Our story

Started by a machinist. Run by his granddaughter.

North State opened in 1962 in a 4,000 sq-ft shop on Industrial Parkway. Founder Walt Halvorsen ran one Bridgeport mill and answered the phone himself. Today, granddaughter Elena Halvorsen runs the shop: 38,000 sq-ft, 14 CNC machines, 47 employees, and tolerances that hold from part one to part ten thousand. The phone is still answered by a Halvorsen.
